Dyslexia Tutor North London – 1 : 1 Teaching – Individual Attention
I provide 1 : 1 tutoring for children (aged 7 – 12) diagnosed with dyslexia and those who have had no diagnosis as yet but are experiencing problems with literacy. I also carry out my own formal / informal assessments.
I have worked as a fully qualified special needs teacher for more than 25 years. I have taught children with a variety of special needs including autism, dyspraxia, dyslexia and speech and language difficulties. Children with learning difficulties invariably have low self-esteem and it is one of my prime concerns to address this issue. I keep up-to-date with new resources and games for special needs by attending exhibitions and lectures. A typical lesson would include some reading (always at the appropriate reading level of the child), work on memory, spelling strategies, writing and games to reinforce the work.
My Qualifications:
BA (Hons) UCL, London
Post Graduate Certificate of Education
London Institute of Education Certificate in teaching children with specific learning difficulties.
O.C.R. – Oxford and Cambridge Certificate Level 7 for Teaching Children with Learning Difficulties.
Currently:- Tutor with Waltham Forest Dyslexia Association.
Up-to-date -DBS Certificate (formerly CRB).
